BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder or butt
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken or beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw (optional)

Instructions:

Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.

Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place the pork shoulder on top.

Pour the barbecue sauce and broth over the pork.

Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is very tender and falls apart easily.

Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Discard any excess fat.

Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.

Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
