Classic Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions:
Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
Season the cheese sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
If desired, transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and broil for a few minutes until golden and bubbly.
Serve hot and enjoy!
